The tallest point of the headboard is 55", and the tallest point of the footboard is 24". The distance between the floor and the top of the bed slats is 8".
A mattress is required for this bed. A box spring is required only if you do not select the extra strength slats.
Underbed storage/trundle is not included but can be added as an option.
I appreciate the effort that went into this bed. It is beautifully crafted and very well stained (Swiss chocolate finish). It's the perfect rustic piece for my cottage, my wife and I love it so much!
